| THE
KANGAROO ASSOCIATION |
| The 1CACR
Extended Family |
| AS
THE ONLY Canadian fighting regiment ever constituted, blooded and disbanded
outside Canada's borders, 1CACR also holds the dubious distinction of being
a regiment without a home, and thus, previously anyway, a fighting regiment
without any kind of formal association to perpetuate their BATTLE
HONOURS. |
| Since shortly
after the war, however, a small and varied group of Kangaroos in southern
Ontario has been meeting informally at least once a year on or about 11
November. Through the tireless efforts of Ken Ramsden and many others,
we've managed to keep at least a core group of Kangaroos together through
the years. |
| With the inauguration
of this new Kangaroo Association, we are creating a formal infrastructure
to perpetuate the memory of the Regiment for the benefit of future generations
to come. This Association will be a focal point for past members of the
Regiment, their families, and friends who have a sincere interest in seeing
that 1CACR is not forgotten. |
| Pending the
incorporation of the new Association, we are currently engaged in gathering
as much data as possible on the Regiment and its personnel for archival
purposes. Please use the navigation bars at the left to jump to the PERSONNEL
section
where you can read more about this endeavour! |
| In the interim,
information on the Association itself will be upcoming shortly. You may
email us HERE
for updates or with any questions you may have! |
