1CACR BATTLE HONOURS
Where We Were and What We Did
BATTLE HONOURS were officially conferred upon the 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment in a letter from Gordon Churchill, Minister of Trade and Commerce, on 29 August 1958.
Although the Regiment was formally disbanded on 20 June 1945, the Minister's letter affirms that
'Should there ever be another regiment established in the Canadian Army as a successor to the Kangaroos, they will have these battle honours on their colours.'
The following battle honours have been approved for emblazenment:
  • The Lower Maas
  • The Roer
  • The Rhineland
  • The Reichswald
  • Moyland Wood
  • Goch-Calcar Road
  • The Hochwald
  • The Rhine
  • Groningen
  • North-West Europe, 1944-1945
The following additional battle honours have also been approved:
  • Le Havre
  • Boulogne, 1944
  • Xanten

As it remains extremely unlikely that "...another regiment [be] established in the Canadian Army as a successor to the Kangaroos...", it is the earnest desire of our Association to have a Regimental Colour created and formally dedicated, then laid to rest in an appropriate location.
