BATTLE HONOURS |
| Where
We Were and What We Did |
| BATTLE
HONOURS were officially conferred upon the 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier
Regiment in a letter from Gordon Churchill, Minister of Trade and Commerce,
on 29 August 1958. |
Although the
Regiment was formally disbanded on 20 June 1945, the Minister's letter
affirms that
'Should
there ever be another regiment established in the Canadian Army as a successor
to the Kangaroos, they will have these battle honours on their colours.'
|
The following
battle honours have been approved for emblazenment:
-
The Lower Maas
-
The Roer
-
The Rhineland
-
The Reichswald
-
Moyland Wood
-
Goch-Calcar Road
-
The Hochwald
-
The Rhine
-
Groningen
-
North-West Europe, 1944-1945
|
|
|
The
following additional battle honours have also been approved:
-
Le Havre
-
Boulogne, 1944
-
Xanten
|
|
| As it remains
extremely unlikely that "...another regiment
[be] established in the Canadian Army as a successor to the Kangaroos...",
it is the earnest desire of our Association to have a Regimental
Colour created and formally dedicated, then laid to rest in an appropriate
location. Please see NEWS
& EVENTS for more information! |
